Born on April 18, 1993, Taylor Pischke is a very well-known Canadian volleyball player.
Taylor Pischke was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Taylor Pischke is the daughter of Garth Pischke, a twice-time Olympian with Canada’s national men’s volleyball team, as well as the coach of the male team at the University of Manitoba.
Her mother is Cindy Shepherd and she is an athlete in the Canadian Junior National Team and a three-time CIS National Champion as well.
She had first competed for the national level in the rhythmic gymnastics division and then Taylor Pischke took the sport of her parents when she was 14.
She won a bronze medal at the 2013 and 2014 U23 World Championships, and finished fifth at the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games.
Taylor embodies the lifestyle of beach volleyball in off season.
She appeared in the Beauty of Sport issue of Sportsnet Magazine and was an advocate of women’s strength and beauty in the 2016 campaign “My Beauty My Say” by Dove.
At 5-foot-11, Taylor is known as a tweener — equally capable of blocking and digging — and with new partner and Rio 2016 Olympian, Kristina Valjas, she will move into a more defensive role.
She gets into the FIVB World Tour with a renewed pursuit of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
