Born in Tacoma, Washington, on 18th August 1986, Miesha Theresa Tate, she is an American mixed martial artist. During her early years, she used to be a tomboy, and used to play with her neighborhood boys.
The beautiful Tate attended the Franklin Pierce High School, and used to take part in amateur wrestling.
She later attended the University of Central Washington where a friend asked her to join a mixed martial arts club. Tate took her advice, and later developed an interest in Brazilian jiu jitsu, a martial art submission technique usually performed on the mat.
She went on to learn the intricacy of mixed martial arts over a period of time. She realized MMA relies on strikes and grappling, unlike wrestling. Her first ever amateur wrestling bout was against Muay Thai specialist Elizabeth Posner.
Miesha Tate is a professional mixed martial artist, a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, she has competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She was 20 when she wrestled with Elizabeth Posener. In the following year she made her professional debut at the one-night HOOKnSHOOT Women’s Grand Prix.
She won first time in the FCF Women’s Bantamweight Championship after a couple of years. She focuses on wrestling and jiu-jitsu from Brazil, and has been widely praised for that. Her fame grew shortly after she won the ‘Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship.
She has also modelled for a number of websites and publications other than her MMA career, including ESPN The Magazine and Fitness Gurls. She is a playable personage in a video game called EA Sports, UFC.
