Football Biggest Fight: The Day Barcelona Boss Jose Mourinho Crossed Limit

Mourinho doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being the block’s nicest chap, but this incident in 2011 surprised even his most hardened supporters.
Marcelo flew into a tackle on Cesc Fabregas in the 94th minute of El Clasico, with Barcelona leading 3-2 in an already incredibly heated game that resulted in a red card for the left-back Brazilian and a mass brawl between all the players on the pitch.

It wasn’t until TV replays revealed the battle that Mourinho was caught gouging the late Tito Vilanova ‘s eye, that both sets of coaches have fought on the touchline.

Mourinho flat out refused to apologize to Vilanova in the immediate aftermath of the disgraceful act, saying he was protecting Los Blancos’ reputation.

Together with Vilanova, who had slapped him in retaliation, Mourinho was suspended and it took almost a year before the Portuguese boss acknowledged that he regretted the move and apologised.
