Allison Stokke was a young and dedicated American track and field competitor back in 2007. She broke several records of pole vaulting, and had a side job as a model.
Stokke was just a senior high school when someone took a picture of her during a competition and posted it online.
The photograph went viral and was shared thousands of times before news producers caught the story and made it official: Allison Stokke was a viral phenomenon.
Who is Allison Stokke ?
Allison Stokke was born in Newport Beach, California, and grew up in a successful athletic family. Her older brother, David, had been a gymnast at the national youth level. Following in the footsteps of her brother, Allison Stokke attempted gymnastics to see if she could become a gymnast too. She finally came to realize however that gymnastics was not her true passion.
She finds instead her passion in pole vaulting. Stokke would grow to become an outstanding pole vaulter over the course of her school tenure and she would ultimately compete at the highest level of her sport. But the publicity she inevitably drew to her horror would put her whole career in jeopardy and change her life for ever.
