The ’90s had big shoes to fill after the’ 80s dominate WWE’s decade, commonly known as the wrestling “golden era.” However, the ’90s became known as the “Attitude Era,” even without the presence of the wrestlers, there would have been nothing that made there so good.
So here it is, from 50 onwards and working our way up to the prestigious number one spot.
From 50-31
Ken Shamrock
“Bad Ass” Billy Gunn
Jerry Lawler
Dudley Boyz
Matt Hardy
Rob Van Dam
Shane McMahon
Hardy Boys
Big Boss Man
The Road Warriors
Mr. McMahon
Sid
Lex Luger
Edge
Tatanka
Chris Jericho
Yokozuna
Goldust
Steve Borden
Jeff Hardy
As you can see, some unbelievable names have already made the list and we’re not even close to the number one spot.
The likes of Matt Hardy, Edge, Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy all secure a place between 50 and 31, but there’s plenty going to believe they should be placed even higher in the ranks, but maybe their best work came in the ’00s and beyond. Still, it is a very impressive achievement to make the top 50 from the whole of the nineties.
From 30-11
Rick Rude
Big Van Vader
Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart
Paul “Big Show” Wright
Bam Bam Bigelow
Diesel
Ted DiBiase
Razor Ramon
Roddy Piper
Smash
The British Bulldog
Road Warrior Hawk
Ax
Road Warrior Animal
Owen Hart
Andre the Giant
Bill Goldberg
Kane
Mick Foley
The Ultimate Warrior
Again, we ‘re being treated with some incredible names from 30 to 11, with the man missing the Ultimate Warrior on a top-10 spot.
A crop of extremely talented superstars in both the ring and on the stage, and a true blend of top-class heels and top-class faces as well.
They really had fruitful nineties but not as much as the final top 10!
The TOP 10
Triple H
Mr. Perfect
Rick Flair
Hulk Hogan
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Shawn Michaels
The Undertaker
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Randy Savage
Bret Hart
The top 10 of the entire ’90s! What a WWE superstars list right in there.
It’s impossible tough separating some of the names, but it’s truly remarkable that the great Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson misses out on a top five spot. HBK and The Undertaker may also surprise people outside the top three, but few might argue that Bret Hart would take the number one spot home.
One thing is for sure, and you can tell that WWE / WWF was at its peak during the 1990s just by looking at this list.
