Anna Hoogendijk Born on May 6, 1985, she is a Dutch professional football player who played as a midfielder or defender for Ajax.
Noukie is nicknamed the magnificent footballer. The beautiful Hoogendijk first came to note when she was 12 and took part in the television show “Geef Nooit Op” (Never Give Up).
She decided to train with FC Utrecht and at the start of the Fredivisie Vrouwen in 2007, after a stint with Saestum, she finally signed up for Utrecht.
When she signed an eight-month deal with English WSL side Bristol Academy in January 2011 Hoogendijk fulfilled her ambition to play abroad.
International Career
She debuted as a half-time substitute in a 2-0 defeat to Japan in Zeist for the senior Netherlands women’s national football team on 6 August 2004.
Hoogendijk played all the matches as the Netherlands reached semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2009. She delivered the winning kick in the quarter-final penalty shootout victory over France.
In June 2013 Hoogendijk was drafted by national team coach Roger Reijners in the Netherlands team for UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 to be held in Sweden.
Playing in a defensive position, Hoogendjik contributed with champions Germany in the team’s opening game to a highly promising goalless draw.
She was unhappy following the subsequent 1-0 losses to Norway and Iceland which resulted in the elimination of Netherlands in the first round. She said, “I know this isn’t the end of the world but it feels like the end of the world today.”
Hoogendijk is a full-fledged international player for the Dutch national team with more than 100 appearances since 2004, and has also represented her country at one FIFA Women’s World Cup and two UEFA Women’s Euro tournaments.
